We install complete installations is in the Hampshire, Dorset, and Wiltshire area, and supply and deliver DIY kit anywhere in the UK.
The system is easy to fit, and would suit a DIY enthusiast with some plumbing knowledge. It is recommended that access to the roof is by means of a professionally erected scaffolding with safety rails. Easy to follow installation manual included with the kit.

SOLAR HEAT ABSORPTION
The absorber of the evacuated tube is the black coating on the inner tube. This special selective coating is excellent at absorbing solar energy (92%), while only reflecting a small amount (8%). The sunlight passes through the clear outer tube, and is absorbed by the inner tube, raising the temperature inside. A vacuum between the two glass tubes greatly reduces any heat losses, improving performance in cold weather. |

SOLAR HEAT TRANSFER PIPE
The pipe has a small amount of transfer fluid in it. The tube has the air removed, forming a vacuum. Because the tube is at low pressure, it boils and turns to steam at 30°c. The steam rapidly transfers heat to the tip of the pipe, which is plugged into the header manifold. |
| SOLAR HEAT STORAGE
The heat pipe condenser is plugged into a header manifold through which the water is circulated. As water flows through the manifold header pipe it absorbs heat, which is returned into the storage cylinder. By repeating this process over and over, the water is heated. |
SYSTEMS
Closed (Pressurised System):
A twin coiled hot water cylinder is required to replace the existing. The solar collector heats a transfer fluid which is circulated by a pump through the solar coil of the cylinder, and back to the collector. Heat is transferred to water in the cylinder from the solar coil.
An expansion vessel is fitted to protect against any expansion of the transfer fluid that may occur in the system due to circulation pump stopping ie. Power failure. |

SOLAR TUBE SHAPE & SPACING
The cylindrical shape of the evacuated tubes ensures they are always facing the sun, unlike flat plate collectors that only face the sun at midday. Evacuated tubes are also spaced close together to minimize any light losses between the tubes.
These two factors result in stable heat output from mid morning through to mid afternoon. Flat plate collectors provide peak output only at midday, when the sun is directly overhead. |
| HEATING YOUR SWIMMING POOL EFFECTIVELY |
Solar vacuum tubes are extremely effective in keeping your swimming pool up to temperature from spring through to autumn. The savings on heating costs can be very substantial. Swimming pool collectors can also be switched automatically to the house hot water system which (due to the required sized collector for a swimming pool) can supply up to 95% of hot water requirements for the whole year.

EVACUATED TUBE COLLECTORS |
Solar Solutions offer a wide range of evacuated tube collectors. All collectors come with a mounting frame designed for a pitched roof and stainless steel fixing bolts or straps.
The choice of how many tubes you require will vary with each application and location. For the UK climate we would always fit 58mm diameter tubes, ensuring a higher all year round performance.
All of our collectors come with a 10 year guarantee, are manufactured under ISO9001:2000 and certified to EN12975.
